The January 12th earthquake in Haiti destroyed over 4,000 schools that served more than three million children. World Hope International in Haiti, a 100% locally-run NGO, has created 16 day camps for children in Port-au-Prince. Now children like 14-year-old Wensley have a structured day of reading, discussion, physical activity, counseling, and recreation. But the larger question–when Haiti’s children will return to school–remains unanswered.
